    Welcome to Tree Life's Demonstration Course! We've created this course to let you look at our Learner Portal, a crucial tool for all our students and the hub of all important information.

  • About our Courses

    Here at Tree Life we offer a few different kinds of courses. 

    Our Short Courses - from single day workshops to three day PTI courses, these short courses cover a range of topics. See below for more information on our short courses.

    Level 2, 4 and ATP in Arboriculture - longer courses working towards an ABC Qualification. We've run these at Syston, Harlow and Westonbirt Arboretum, as well as online - we've run our Tree Mail courses remotely for almost a decade now. With the withdrawal of the Level 6 Qualification, Dave Dowson of Tree Life as the primary author of the Level 6 has developed the Accredited  Training Progrmme in Urban Tree Management.

    October 2022 Update: Our next Level 2 and 4 courses will begin in September 2023 and will be running online. Our ATP will also be running online and starts in September 2023.

    July 2023 Update: Our 2024 Level 2, 4 and ATP courses will begin in September 2024 and will be running online. Course Applications are now Open for 2024 - please visit https://www.treelifeac.co.uk or email admin@treelifeac.co.uk for more information.

    • Course Content Examples

      Here are some example assignments to show you some of the ways we assess students. 

      Portal Tests - set up here as fun quizzes, these are marked by computer and you get as many goes as you need when on the course

      Written Assignments - marked by your tutors, you need to fulfil all the ACs - Assessment Criteria - to pass. The example assignment here is actually our Sponsorship Application, which could get you significant financial aid towards the cost of your course! you will need to have created an account to see the Assignment submission information here.

      Improve your learning and understanding of tree work through better access and knowledge of the contents of a very important British document that provides recommendations and guidance for our arboricultural industry.

      This guide is a concise version, it is not the intention to replace or replicate the full standard or the contents of the commentary and explanatory notes. The guide conveys in an A5 size handy booklet what should be done when working in accordance with BS3998 standard recommendations. Throughout the sections reference is provided to guide the reader to the relevant section in the full version.
